I wrote this in the shed i was sleeping in and it took a week or two to really make the structure work, i played the demo to my brother and explained how the ending didn't feel 'quite right' and he casually said "just repeat that beginning bit at the end" and i could hear pennies drop in my head, it was a beautiful moment as he kinda helped me understand how great the simplicity of songwriting can be when you want it to be and he didn't even really mean it.

Certainly a controversial direction for the band, but this album ultimately rests as my favorite from TTNG. The technical mastery of their previous albums is still present here along with some very thought provoking and philosophical lyrics. I may not always agree with the lyrical messaging, but this is an album which rewards careful listening. Syobnaf
